ABOUT CA YOUTH
Chizuk Amuno Congregation offers year long programming for students in grades K–12. We have five youth group: BONIM, SOLELLIM, GESHER, KADIMA, and CAUSY. All five of our youth groups meet monthly during the school year. Our activities span the gamut with fun and exciting Jewish experiential learning. We don’t just play or make crafts; we enhance Jewish learning in a relaxing, camp-like setting. To see more about the different groups please click on their links.
BONIM–(bo’neem) is the Youth Group for students in grades K-2. Bonim meets about once a month on Sundays. Past events include Bonim’s Candy Seder, Pony Hop, and No School Fun Day.
SOLELLIM–(so’l’leem) is the Youth Group for students in grades 3-4. Solellim meets about once a month usually on a Sunday afternoon. In addition to Sunday programming Solellim also has a Shabbaton were we sleepover in the building and have nonstop fun the entire time. Past Solellim events include Solellim’s Singing Bee, Scavenger Hunt, and Water Works.
GESHER–(geh’share) is the Youth Group for students in grades 5-6. Gesher meets about once a month and has had some amazing programs like Gesher goes Gaga, Gesher Goes Green, and Climb Masada.
KADIMA–(ka’de’mah) is the Youth Group for students in grades 7-8. Kadima meets at least once a month and has fun programs like Wii night, laser tag, mitzvah projects and many other programs. In addition to the Kadima events that happen here at Chizuk Amuno, a few times during there is regional programming. Seaboard Region is comprised of over 30 synagogues from Maryland, DC, Virginia, and Northern North Carolina. In both the fall and spring there are regional Shabbatonim where you can make new friends from all over the Seaboard Region.
CAUSY–(cause-E) is the Youth Group for students in grades 9-12. CAUSY stands for Chizuk Amuno United Synagogue Youth. CAUSY is a student lead organization where the events are planned and run by the students. Events take place both in and out of Chizuk Amuno. Seaboard Region USY offers additional regional programming including dances, Shabbatonim, International Convention and a week long camp experience at the end of the summer call Encampment.
Through USY International, there are numerous summer programs here in the US, in Europe and Israel.
